Unpopular opinion:

Korra spoilers below the cut (don’t worry, short opinion is short)

Minus romantic subplots, I actually liked every episode. The romance was what was rushed, not so much the plot. I think that if they had left out romance and focused on Korra as a CHARACTER, the series would have been fine. But as is, when Korra finally achieved the avatar state, it felt like a cheat. For what little she’s grown and learned, I don’t think she deserved that deus ex machina. It was cool, but I think she should have had to earn it. Like train with just her airbending, learn humility, and THEN after she’s grown as a person, get all her bending back.
